UR Alumni for Social Responsibility

Mission Statement

University of Rochester Alumni for Social Responsibility is a group of alumni who seek to improve connections to the local and global communities in which they live and work, as well as to each other and the University.  We seek to empower alumni and current students to actively encourage the University to support policies of social responsibility. We believe that we are unique stakeholders in upholding and promoting the University's essential mantra - Meliora - "ever better." On that order, the goals of the group are threefold:

1. To coordinate and encourage networking between University of Rochester alumni and student populations and to be a resource for those working or wanting to work within socially and environmentally responsible fields.

2. To encourage a culture of disclosure and openness at the University that permits and supports a community dialogue about University decisions and their impacts.

3. To mobilize alumni and the University community to act on behalf of goals that they deem important.
